# EFP-06

## Specifications 2024

- Surface of the bottom: 27 cm²
- Weight: about 0.5 kg
- Diameter (D): 64 mm
- Height (H): 90 mm
- Self (DC) potential of a couple: a few mV (shortly after manufacture)
- Contact+internal resistance of a couple: 100-300 Ohm (shortly after manufacture, on normal ground)

> **Note:** The EFP-06 alters after manufacture. Buy them when you need them.  
> The average lifetime is about 2 years.  
> **Disposal:** The EFP-06 is a hazardous waste. Dispose where you dispose car batteries or other material containing **lead**.  
> **Deposit:** put 2 mm water on the bottom of the EFP-06 and store it in the plastic bag. So humid, but not wet. Keep the cable end **outside**.

### Steel Rods

Steel rods can be used for short recordings around 1-2 hours.

The deliver data good down to 10 Hz. Maybe more.

In dry areas you notify that by hammering the rods into the ground, the hole widens and the rod loses contact to the ground - and your measurement is useless!

Use the EFP-06. Use bentonite in case of dry ground. **Never use salt!** That destroys the chemistry of the electrodes (despite many people saying "use salt" ... don't use salt!).

Hence that above 100 Hz you'll see some data - but that is data from the E-field line and not from the electrodes.

In case the item is no longer needed, please dispose it according to the local regulations for electronic waste.  
Dispose items only at qualified places, not in your household waste.
