ADU-12e

project to be finished in November 2025

The ADU-12e is a “stacked version” of ADU-10e and ADU-11e.

ADU-12e (shown here as ADU-11e)

Before you start

Before you start, please read the ADU-10e and ADU-11e documentation.
Especially the LMT section of the ADU-11e documentation.

Introduction

The system is designed for broadband magnetotelluric (MT) and audio-magnetotelluric (AMT) measurements; for all who need LF data and HF data in one system.
LF means here more than 100 s (or depth greater than 5-7 km).
For most surveys for minerals and mining this is not the case, take the ADU-11e here.
For scientific applications where depths of 20 km and more are needed, this is the right choice.

The LF part (aka ADU-10e ) runs independently from the HF part (aka ADU-11e ); a typical setup is MFS-06e coils and SHFT-02e/3e sensors. Or fluxgate FGS-04e with MFS-07e coils.

  • < 6 W power consumption

  • simultaneous recording of AMT & MT with dedicated sensors

  • continuous streaming of atss data for remote logging

The systems writes standard ats files as well as streamed double data atss (Matlab, Python/Julia NumPy array compatible with JSON data header)

Note

A more efficient way to record LF and HF data is to use two separate systems, one for LF and one for HF.
While recording LF data, the HF/MF system you can record 3 - 4 stations in parallel.

You can use syncthing, rsync and WebDAV to transfer data to your office.
